Posts: 1 Location: Tupelo, MS | I believe it will be much better this year! There will only be one "main stage" this year so parking will be easier and there won't be as many streets closed off during the festival. As far as the entertainment, Friday night is going to be packed with 4 great regional bands that all are about to explode on the music sceen. Friday will be a mixture of genres but all will be appealing from the opening act Bliss to the closing act Saving Abel. The night should build to an explosion. The headline act is Crossin Dixon which has hit the country charts with its latest release Guitar Slinger. Jonathan Singleton and The Grove are just so good and he is writing for several major country stars including Gary Allen's new Watching Airplanes. Sandwiched between these bands on the Unicel Unplugged stage will be some of the best singer songwriters in this area. Tim Warren, John Milstead and Shadie will be performing sets during the change over time between bands. The night will be hosted by Drum and Dick from Z98.5 so you know it will be crazy.
Saturday on Main Street there will be a free street concert with 8 local bands performing from 1 until 9pm. These aren't just little throw together bands. The lineup includes Jamie Davis and Soul Gravey, Velvet Jones, Hindsight, Refuse the Fall and more. Also on Saturday there will be a children's concert, a wall climb, a carnival, street vendors, and a Guitar Hero contest held in Benjamin's on Main.
Saturday night Jo Dee Messina will headline following the 2nd Annual Elvis Tribute artist contest. Jo Dee has a new album about to drop and she is such an electric performer. Before Jo Dee the greatest tribute artist performing today will take the stage, Shawn Klush. He is Elvis! The final act of the night has yet to be revealed but it will be huge.
Soooo yes, this is going to be an awesome festival. Spread the word, that tickets are on sell either at Dodges Food Stores or on line at tupeloelvisfestival.com. You can save by ordering now. |

That should keep most of N Mississippi away from Tupelo. They are the most obnoxious duo on the airwaves. |

Posts: 85 Location: north lee county | Like everyone has a spare 100 bucks to spend it on overpriced food and drinks to see country music at the Elvis fest hence (King of Rock and Roll) somehow I think something has gone wrong there. What it boils down to is they couldnt get a good rock band to come play and that is what they came up with or the city wouldnt allow a good rock band. Either way most people I have heard talking about it wont be going. |

| Give me the old fashioned small festival where we park our cars and walk in for FREE! Where we hear mostly local talent who does a pretty good job playing I might add. Where churches and clubs sell their food, albeit some of that is overpriced....

| Well...did anybody attend the Elvis Fest from these forums? Was it worth the money you spent? It would be interesting to hear if it was an enjoyable festival or not. How about it? |

Posts: 828 Location: Not Here! | As luck would have it, I got to go for free. It was a complete and utter waste of time. I would not have gone if I had to pay. My friends all said it is going downhill and unless they have some major talent next year will not be going back. I should have went to that deal in Saltillo, I heard it was much more family-oriented.
I think that's the real problem with the Elvis Festival, it's boring and is not very family friendly. ASE |

| The best festivals are the spontaneous ones. No fees to get in. Local concession vendors. Everybody loves local talent. The powers that be should listen to the ordinary citizen of what he/she wants. |
