Jennifer Farish, 26,
grew up in Clarksdale, where she graduated from Lee
Academy in 1997 before earning a bachelor of arts in
journalism and English from the University of
Mississippi in 2001.
After graduation, Jennifer worked for the Daily News
Journal in Murfreesboro, Tenn., reporting on higher
education, county government and business topics.
In 2003, she and her husband, Hank, returned to
Mississippi, where she became the law enforcement
reporter for the Northeast Mississippi Daily
Journal. In March 2004, Jennifer moved to the
Journal's Oxford bureau.
Jennifer and Hank, who is a teacher at South Panola
High School in Batesville, live in Oxford with their
cat, Bob, and two dogs, Jake and Lucy. She is the
daughter of Edward and Mary Ruth Phillips of
Clarksdale.
