Thomas
Wells, 34, grew up in Batesville, where he graduated
from North Delta Academy in 1988 before earning a
bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the
University of Mississippi in 1995.
While studying at Ole Miss, Thomas was a sports
photographer for The Panolian in Batesville and
worked for two years at a portrait studio.
After graduation, Thomas worked for five years as
chief photographer at The Daily Leader in Brookhaven
before joining the Northeast Mississippi Daily
Journal in 2000.
Thomas and his wife, Kris, who is the communications
coordinator for Mississippi Methodist Senior
Services in Tupelo, live in Tupelo with their
daughter, Mackenzie, 12; their son, Wesley, 6; and
their dog, Macey. He is the son of Tommy and Dottie
Wells of Batesville.
