On Saturday June 1, at Jesse Bynum Field in Corinth, a trio of Houston Hilltopper senior baseball players participated in the North Mississippi Coaches Baseball Association All-Star Game. These players represented their school by playing on the 3A/5A West Team. The East defeated the West 7-2 in the game.
Blaize Gann played right field for the West squad. He made a very impressive diving catch in the second inning. At the plate, Gann singled and reached on a fielder’s choice.
Brylee Poteete played second base very well in the game. He added a walk, and reached on an error at the plate.
Kevin Diaz was the DH (designated hitter) and played a couple innings in the infield during the game. He contributed a walk and grounded out in his two at-bats.
Houston High School and the community should be very proud of these three young men as they represented them well in this game, coaches, fans and players agreed.
