VARDAMAN – The Vardaman Lady Rams Softball Team is headed to the North Half championship following their sweeping round three of the playoffs.
They traveled to Smithville on Friday night to meet the Lady Seminoles on their home diamond. They took game one by a final of 12-6, and then set their sights on locking it down in game two on Saturday.
Smithville came to town this time and the Lady Rams once again took the victory, this time by a final score of 7-5.
Senior Makynlie Jones was on the mound for the Lady Rams on Friday night.
In addition to her outstanding pitching performance, she also hit a home run on Friday night and a three run homer on Saturday.
The Lady Rams have been electric this season, scoring a division championship and earning a bye week for the first round.
They then came into the second round and picked up where they left off, sinking the second and third rounds in two games each.
They will face off against Wheeler for the North Half, and the winner of that series will take on the winner of the Taylorsville and Sebastopol series for the championship.
