HOUSTON – The Chickasaw Journal is pleased to announce that Robert Scott has been chosen as the new editor of the paper.
Robert is the oldest child of Harmon and Beth Scott of Woodland. He is a native of Woodland.
He is a 2015 graduate of Houston High School, where he graduated seventh in his class. He graduated cum laude from the Mississippi University for Women on May 11 of this year. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication.
He spent two years working on The W’s student-led newspaper, “The Spectator.” He also worked in the school’s public relations department.
He has a passion for journalism and wants to translate that into making sure the Chickasaw Journal offers its readers the best possible coverage for Houston and Chickasaw County.
He is the sitting master of Montpelier Masonic lodge, and he also a member of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi.
In his leisure time, he enjoys watching movies and reading books. His favorite movies are the Marvel movies, especially “The Avengers” series. Stephen King is his favorite author, but he enjoys different genres.
He is currently dating Jordan Rauhoff of Columbus, Miss.
He chose to work at the Chickasaw Journal because it is his hometown newspaper. He wants to see it grow and wants nothing but the best for the community. He picked small-town journalism over the big city because Chickasaw County is his home, and he wants to make sure it thrives.
