3309 LEGAL NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS The Town of Walnut will accept separate sealed bids for the renovation of an existing building next door to the Town Hall located at 621 Main Street in Walnut, MS 38683 until 2:00 o'clock P.M. CDST September 3, 2019, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. This project is being funded by a Small Municipalities and Limited Population Counties grant through the Mississippi Development Authority. Plans and specification are entitled: Construction Drawings for Addition & Renovation of the Walnut Town Hall and are on file in the office of Scott Engineering Company, 1530 Polk Street, Corinth, MS. Bidders may obtain one (1) set of plans and specifications upon deposit of $300.00 per set, which will not be refunded, except that the successful Bidder will be reimbursed $100.00. Make check payable to Scott Engineering Company, 1530 Polk Street; Corinth, MS 38834; 662-287-2436. Bids must be submitted on the Bid Form as shown in the Bidding Documents and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: Such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute contract and post Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Bid on the projects must be received on or before the scheduled date and hour for bid opening. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of the bids. All bids submitted in excess of $50,000.00 by a contractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work must comply with the Mississippi Code Annotated 31-3-21. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.
