Five of the county’s senior basketball players from the 2018-19 school year and one coach represented the county in the Northeast Mississippi Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game at Booneville High School this past weekend.

On Friday evening, the All-Stars competed in various skill challenges, such as a dunk contest and hot-shot competition. On Saturday, the games began.

The 1A/2A girls game was the first of the day. Tremont’s Haley Robinson and Allison Hadorn were on the Red team and Kaitlin Aters was on the Blue team. Robinson scored a total of 10 points and had five rebounds. Hadorn collected four rebounds and scored 8 points. Aters blocked a shot while scoring 6 points and tallied five rebounds.

The last game of the day was the 3A/4A/5A/6A boys game, and the county had Jaxon Orr, Gary Hoskins and head coach Darrell Wilson of Itawamba Agricultural High School all on the Red team.

Orr scored 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds to go with one block. His performance led to him being named the game’s Defensive Most Valuable Player. Hoskins scored 4 points and had five rebounds in the 73-57 loss to the Blue team. Twitter: @abbyloden
