Members of Fulton’s Scout Troop 32 and Pack 32 Cub Scouts had the honor of raising the flag in pit row at Talladega Motor Speedway’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 1000Bulbs 500 in October.

It was the 50th anniversary celebration of Talladega Superspeedway and Richard Childress Racing.

In addition to the weekend’s racing, the Scouts enjoyed a camp out, a truck race and the toured the Talladega Garage Experience.

“The boys really enjoyed the trip,” Scout leader Robert Blake said. “Before the rain set in, they were able to see part of the NASCAR race Sunday.”

The car driven by Dale Earnhardt, Sr. in his last career win paced the racetrack before Sunday’s race. Richard Childress was the driver for the nostalgic ride.

Several Scouts were also able to meet Dale Earnhardt, Jr. making an already special outing even more so.
