Fulton native Ally McDonald recorded the best finish of her LPGA career this past weekend.
McDonald recored a solo third place at 9-under-par at the Shoprite LPGA Classic in Galloway, New Jersey. She started hot in the 54-hole tournament, shooting an opening round 67.
On Saturday, McDonald carded her second-straight 67 and sat only two strokes out of first place heading into the final round.
Sunday was a test for every golfer on the course. Winds reached 30 miles-per-hour at times. McDonald was one of only 14 golfers to shoot under par when she finished with a 1-under-par, 70. It wasn’t quite enough to win, but she finished in sole possession of third place, only three strokes back of the leader.
The finish was McDonald’s best on the LPGA Tour. It’s her second-straight top-10 finish and third of the season.
