Thanksgiving armed robbery ends in pursuit, wreck

A Thanksgiving armed robbery in the Carolina Community ended with a car chase, wreck and two people in the hospital.

Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with a Thanksgiving Day armed robbery and subsequent car chase. As of Friday, law enforcement officials were withholding the names of the male suspects being charged in the case, as well as the name of the victim in the case. Both suspects are currently being held in Itawamba County Jail.

According to Newlin, deputies responded to a call regarding an armed robbery in the Carolina Community on Thanksgiving Day. The suspects allegedly broke into the residence, accosted the owner and then fled the scene, taking several items with them.

Deputies met and tried to stop the vehicle while responding to the call, but the suspects reportedly fled from them. What followed was a short pursuit, which ended when the suspects lost control of their vehicle and left the road. One of the suspects was injured in the accident and had to be transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. He was released the same day and taken to Itawamba County Jail.

The victim of the crime was also taken to North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during the robbery. He has since been released from the hospital.

More information on the incident is expected to be released next week.
