TUPELO – Tupelo native Ashley Dulaney is about to get her big break. Dulaney, 26, will guest star in next week’s episode of the hit ABC drama “Scandal.”

“It’s one of my favorite shows,” Dulaney said. “It was one of the coolest experiences. I worked with so many cool people.”

Dulaney, a 2005 Tupelo High School and 2009 University of Mississippi graduate, stars in the episode “Say Hello to My Little Friend.”

“I’m a girl on trial who’s sexted a senator,” she said.

“Scandal,” created by “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes, stars Kerry Washington, Columbus Short and Darby Stanchfield.

“She was so wonderful,” Dulaney said of Washington. “It’s such a cool set to be on.”

Dulaney moved to Los Angeles after graduating from Ole Miss and began working with the 3 Monkeys Theatre Company, owned by actress Evan Rachel Wood’s mother Sara Wood.

She’s also starred in commercials, like a Hot Pockets ad and a Turbo Tax ad starring Joan Rivers and her daughter Melissa. That led to an appearance on Rivers’ E! show, “Fashion Police.”

“Joan and Melissa were wonderful,” she said. “(Joan) is a really wonderful person, probably the nicest. And Kerry’s really nice, too. I’ve been really lucky.”

Dulaney will soon start work on some independent films.

“As long as I keep working, I’m thrilled,” she said. “I’m happy to be working.”
