Morganna Cagle of Baldwyn wins 2001 Miss Western Image
Morganna Cagle, a 22-year-old resident of Baldwyn, has earned the title of 2001 Miss Western Image by competing in the 2nd Annual Miss Western Image Pageant, held in Millington, Tenn.
Contestants competed in the areas of horsemanship, personality and appearance. The contestants were judged in three rounds of horsemanship and in the categories of public speaking, impromptu question, personal interview, rodeo knowledge and photogenics.
Miss Western Image is a professional rodeo queen title. Cagle will spend the fall season preparing to take over her role as a promoter of the International professional Rodeo Association. She will receive her crown and begin her official duties at a coronation ceremony to be held in January.
Once crowned, Cagle will spent a year traveling and promoting the sport of rodeo, our western heritage and today's western way of life to schools, civic groups, equine and livestock events and associations and special events.
She will compete for the title of Miss Rodeo USA 2002 in January 2002. The Miss Rodeo USA Pageant is held in Oklahoma City in conjunction with the International Professional Rodeo Association championship finals.
Cagle is the daughter of Gary and Ruth Cagle. She has one sister, Megan. Cagle earned an undergraduate degree in English from Northeast Mississippi Community College and plans to continue her education at the University of Mississippi in the areas of English and public relations.
She is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Baldwyn Saddle Club.
