AMORY – Nearly 30 people gathered to welcome Amory Main Street Director Alyssa Benedict and express thanks to former director Traci Huguley as part of the organization’s annual meeting Sept. 25 at the Vinegar Bend Pocket Park.
“I’m thankful for this group that is growing and having a positive impact on our business community,” said Amory Main Street Association President Joseph Richardson. “All of our members play vital roles for Amory Main Street.”
Benedict welcomed the new members for the 2018-2019 year, as well as new businesses making their presence in Amory.
“Brown Eyes’ Bakery will be opening soon on Third Street, and Hilliard Lyons will be having their ribbon cutting in the next few weeks. We are also welcoming Shear Company to Amory,” she said.
Incoming board members include Lorie Bryant, Dr. Tommy Fugett, Erin Reeves and Ken Smith.
Richardson presented Huguley with a painting of Amory Main Street by local artist Courtlyn Chism as a gift for her service. Richardson also expressed appreciation to Carla Glasgow for providing the pocket park for the meeting, as well as the new quarters for the Amory Main Street office, located in the Kiwanis Club’s building.
“I love this area of town. I want to help continue the growth of Vinegar Bend. Great things are ahead,” Glasgow said.
