The Mississippi Department of Revenue released its monthly report of sales tax diversions to municipalities. The August report illustrates local purchases made in July.
Aberdeen’s total of $77,923 was an increase from last month’s total of $73,113 but a decrease from last year’s $78,083. Amory had a total of $203,508 for the month, compared to $199,677 last year and $211,974 last month.
Nettleton collected $49,120. For this time last year, its total was $50,335, and last month’s total was $42,678.
Hatley’s figure was $3,532 for August, which was an increase from $2,967 last year and $3,357 last month. Smithville also witnessed increases from $6,297 last year and $5,937 last month to $6,535 for the August report.
