AMORY – Nathan and LeeAnn Blake assumed ownership of the Windshield Surgeon at the beginning of the year from their neighbor, Robbie Huffman, who built the business with her late husband, Jim, in 1986.
“We took a period of six months to make sure that this was what we wanted to do,” LeeAnn said.
The spacious customer waiting area is also a showroom displaying samples of the expanded product line the Blakes introduced when they took over the business. A variety of automotive accessories is available, including bumpers, hitches, floor liners and tool boxes. The Windshield Surgeon also offers customized shower doors for the home.
“The hitches and floor liners are our best-selling products,” she said.
In addition to complete windshield repair and replacement services, window tinting is also provided.
The Blakes are parents to five children, all of whom are involved with the business in one way or another. The oldest son, Luke Cook, is learning the ropes of the business, working alongside their two employees, Henry Mayhall and his son, Presley.
Luke’s sister, Mercy Cook, is working on her master’s degree in business at the Mississippi University for Women. The three youngest siblings spend after-school hours at the business helping when they get caught up with their homework. The Blakes are active supporters of T-ball and the Amory School District’s softball programs, as well as activities at Crosspointe Church in Nettleton where they attend.
The mission of the business is built around Jesus’ statement recorded in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life…”
The Blakes endeavor to serve their customers following the three-fold model of sincerity, integrity and authenticity in both business and community.
