AMORY – The DreamRiders Chapter C motorcycle club is helping children through an April 27 event featuring live music and food at Frisco Park. The club’s inaugural Wheels for Kids car and bike show begins at 5 p.m.
“We are 100 percent donation-driven. We recently teamed up with the North Mississippi Medical Center’s Pediatric Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We’re very excited about that,” said DreamRiders Chapter C public relations spokesperson Kimberly Carter.
The event will be centered near Frisco Park’s new stage, where the band Chop Shop and a DJ from Forward Church will provide music. Burger plates hot of the grill will be available for $5.
An auction will be held to benefit the DreamRiders’ projects to help sick and needy children of Monroe County and surrounding areas.
“There will be a queen size bed and mattress set, a recliner, televisions, two bicycles, wooden plaques, baked items, as well as gift certificates from various restaurants. Chances will also be sold on a John Deere toy barn house set,” Carter said.
Custom printed T-shirts will be available for $15 and up, and door prizes will be awarded.
Cash donations to DreamRiders will be gratefully received, along with donations such as individually wrapped food items and travel-size personal hygiene items. New toys for newborns to 17 year olds will also be received. However, Beanie Babies and other toys with small heads that may present a choking hazard for young children will not be taken.
“Tons of local businesses have gone above and beyond to provide a wide variety of items for auction,” Carter said.
