AMORY – The Junior Auxiliary of Amory, along with Amory Main Street, Inc. and the City of Amory Parks and Recreation Department, will sponsor Merry and Bright Movie Night Nov. 13 at Frisco Park to help launch this year’s Christmas season.

Santa Claus will be the special guest for the evening, arriving at 6 p.m. to introduce the movie “The Polar Express,” which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees are advised to bring their own chairs and blankets for seating and to please follow local COVID-19 guidelines.

Donations of new pajamas and socks for children ages 3-17 will be accepted for distribution during the event.

The Junior Auxiliary also raises money to help provide for children in the community. Member Cati Cox said Junior Auxiliary provided Christmas to nearly 200 children in Monroe County last year.

“All proceeds go directly to our Santa’s Helper Project. Sponsorships for needy children are available through JA, but the deadline is Nov. 15,” she said.
