AMORY – The public is invited to worship Aug. 21 at Frisco Park through Stand Firm Ministry’s Worship Day in the Park.
The event begins at 3 p.m. and will feature guest speakers such as Justin Dykes of the Whosever Ministries motorcycle club and Amy Shook of God’s House of Hope in Nettleton, along with local worship teams.
“We’re doing this for the community. With all the crazy stuff going on in the world, we’re trying to get together and show people God is still in charge. It’s not about us. It’s about Jesus,” said Stand Firm Ministry founder Vincent Hayes. “This world is crazy and people are so afraid and they need to know people like us have their back.”
Stand Firm Ministry began as an addiction recovery group, which flourished into a church congregation with a presence in Aberdeen.
“People need to know Jesus still lives and dwells in us. Stand Firm wants to let everybody know God is real and God still loves us,” Hayes said.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided at Saturday’s event, and participants are encouraged to bring their own seating.
