AMORY – Amory Main Street will host its Summer Block Party June 15 at 6 p.m. at Frisco Park, featuring live music, a movie and numerous other activities all for free.
“We will have food trucks, cotton candy, face painting, snow cones and kettle corn similar to what is featured at the Chili Fest and Railroad Festival,” said Amory Main Street Director Alyssa Benedict. “We will have inflatables, giant yard games, cornhole and more at Frisco Park, plus a movie after dark.”
According to Amory Parks and Recreation Department events planner Derrick Maranto, the movie will be “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” To compliment the film, chocolate and other candy will be available for the kids. Tony Hooper and his band will perform a mix of oldies, blues and original tunes beginning at 6 p.m.
Benedict encourages everyone to bring their lawn chairs and blankets for a fun evening.
“There will be plenty of food, and activities are free,” she said.
The Summer Block Party will count for this month’s Third Thursday community event.
