ABERDEEN – One thing the Riverview Garden Club and the Aberdeen Pilgrimage have in common is they both turn 40 this year.
Another way the two intersect is the garden club’s luncheon April 10 from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church will be the Pilgrimage’s first event involving food this year.
The menu will consist of grilled chicken breast, ranch potatoes, green beans, pound cake, lemon sauce, rolls and beverages. Cost per dine-in or carry-out plate is $10 with all of the proceeds going back to projects to benefit Aberdeen.
“Everything we made last year was turned right back to the town,” said Patsy Harrington, who along with Jean Thompson, Phyllis Young and Sandi Commander comprise the luncheon’s planning committee.
Last year, a large portion of profits from the luncheon went to the Acker Park renovation fund and the club intends to follow suit this year.
