Smithville’s Tara Parham represented Monroe County in the 1A/2A/3A Mississippi Association of Coaches Fast-Pitch All-Star Game on Friday and Saturday at Jones County Junior College.

Smithville’s Tara Parham flashed off her utility skills on Friday and Saturday as she represented Monroe County and the Lady Noles in the Mississippi Association of Coaches Fast-pitch All-Star softball games at Jones County Junior College.

The North split the games with a 5-1 win on Friday and a 4-2 loss on Saturday, and Parham got a hit in each game and played four different positions over the weekend.

In the first game, Parham was hit by a pitch and then recorded a base hit to go 1 for 2 at the plate. She was 1 for 3 in the second game with a single in her first at bat.

As Smithville’s everyday shortstop this season, Parham played at short, second base, third base and center field in the all-star games.

She said she enjoyed the experience of playing as an all-star and meeting new players and coaches.

“It was such a great experience to play with a bunch of girls with the same athletic abilities as me,” Parham said. “I’m so glad I got to play in the all-star game, not only to show everyone my capabilities, but to also make new friends. It was all around a great time with everyone, including my great coaches.”
