Update: Aberdeen Superintendent Jeff Clay said the lockdown has been lifted. Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said they gave the all clear shortly before 11 a.m., and no weapons were found.
ABERDEEN – Belle-Shivers Middle School in the Aberdeen School District was placed on lockdown Friday morning, Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said.
Aberdeen School District Superintendent Jeff Clay said a faculty member overheard a student say that he saw gun. Clay said due to the events that happened earlier this week with a gun being found in possession of a student, the school was placed on lockdown. Several Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies are on the scene.
