Ballet Xmas

Students of the New Albany Ballet ranging in age from 8 to adult all came together this week to make an impact on Sharing at Christmas.

As they prepared for their upcoming production of The Nutcracker last weekend, they decided the best way to embrace the Christmas spirit was to help others.

Sharing at Christmas is a long-time program by employees of the New Albany Gazette to provide a holiday meal and some staple food items to needy Union County families. Where appropriate, toys are provided to young children.

The program relies on contributions from the community to help and the people have never failed to respond.

This year they hope to feed about 200 families but need at least $15,000. So far, only about $1,000 has been contributed. Both monetary contributions and new toys are welcome.

The New Albany Ballet would like to invite other civic organizations and businesses to donate as well.
