ENTERPRISE - Emma Callicutt tossed a no-hitter in game one and Eden Conlee followed with a 2-hitter in game two as West Union swept the series in Division 1A softball. West Union now advanced to play Thrasher on Monday in Round One of the postseason softball playoffs. West Union won 12-0 and 15-1 over Falkner.
Callicutt ran into trouble in only one inning as she hit a batter and walked the next in the first inning. She ended the threat by striking out the next two batters with no damage done on the scoreboard.
"My screwball was working for me and my changeup was working pretty good, but not the best it's ever been," Callicutt said. "I was really mixing it in a lot, but threw mostly screwballs because they (Falkner) were very far up on the plate."
Callicutt retired Falkner in order over the next three innings as she struck out two in every inning except the third to pick up the win. Callicutt threw 52 pitches, 41 of those for strikes. She threw a strike on the first pitch to 11 of the 14 batters she faced. Callicutt struck out seven batters in her four innings of work.
West Union scored five runs in the first inning as Jenny Thompson drove in two runs with her single while Sophie Hooker picked up another RBI with a bases-loaded walk.
Annie Orman scored the first run of the contest on a delayed steal of home. Callicutt later scored on a wild pitch for the 5-0 lead after an inning.
Claire Douell had a two-out double in the second, but was stranded on the base paths.
West Union added four runs in the third to take a 9-0 lead after three. Mackenzie Morris walked to start the inning and Sophie Hooker followed with a double.
Thomspn was hit-by-pitch to load the bases and Orman drew the walk to plate the first run of the inning. Hooker later scored on Callicutt's fielders choice. Eden Conlee drove in two with her single for the remaining two runs in the frame.
West Union ended the contest in the fourth as they scored three runs for the 12-0 final.
Zoey Wright came off the bench to deliver a one-out single to start the offense. Morris was hit by a pitch and Thompson walked to load the bases for Orman. She smacked a 2-RBI single and Callicutt followed with the walkoff RBI single to decide the game in a run-rule final of 12-0.
Orman had three RBI to lead West Union at the plate while Callicutt, Conlee and Thompson had two RBI apiece.

Eden Conlee allowed one run on two hits and West Union pounded out 11 hits for the 15-1 win in four innings in game two. Conlee struck out four and walked two while tossing 32 strikes out of 51 pitches.
"It was a great win, Falkner came to compete and luckily we were on our game and we took care of business," West Union coach Lisa Bogue said. "Both pitchers for us did great and hit their spots, their pitches were working."
Claire Douell led West Union at the plate, going 2 for 2 with a triple and a double while driving in three runs. Sophie Hooker also had three RBI while Ella Kate Taylor, Laina Corder and Zoey Wright had two RBI each.
