Blue Mountain College Archery Team is proud to announce that Lexi Smith of East Union High School will be added to next season’s roster. Lexi owns a high score of 289 and holds the record for top female archer at East Union High School. She is a member of the inaugural Union County All-Star Archery Team.

Lexi just recently claimed the runner-up 11-12 grade Top Female Archer position for the Mississippi All-Stars. Lexi has earned numerous Top Shooter awards over the course of her years at East Union, including two Top Female Archer titles at the North Half Tournament. Lexi was able to visit the beautiful Blue Mountain College Campus last fall and even took part in a Blue Mountain College Archery practice.

East Union High School archery coach Heidi Brock had this to say about Lexi, “Lexi has been a centerpiece of East Union's archery program.  She has consistently been the top or among the top scorers over the past two years.  She earned the top 4 female archer in Class I while competing in the state tournament in Jackson this year.  She has been invited to compete in the All-Star Tournament for the past 3 years and took second place during her senior year.  Her ability to focus regardless of her surroundings while on the line is unmatched and one of the traits that solidified her as a leader among her peers.  Lexi will truly be missed in the halls of East Union as well as on the shooting line by her teammates, but she will be a tremendous asset to the Blue Mountain archery program.”

After signing the four-year scholarship to shoot archery for Blue Mountain College, Lexi added “I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of such a renowned archery program, and to my two coaches, Heidi Brock and Trey Humphreys, I sincerely want to thank you for helping me become the archer and person I am today.

"Without archery, my life would be far from what it is now. So more than anything, I want to thank my parents, friends, and school for encouraging and supporting me on this journey. I look forward to my time here at Blue Mountain and am excited to see what the next four years will hold for me. Go Toppers!”
