Last week Twanda Black went to Mobile, Alabama for the funeral of her cousin’s (Joyce Lewis) mother-in-law. She thought a lot of Paul Lewis, Joyce’s husband and of Paul’s mother. She left Thursday and came home Monday.
Twanda’s family had Thanksgiving dinner at Beverly and Larry Hall’s while Twanda was gone.
Friday night there was a birthday party for Kristen at Holly and Milton Coffey’s house.
Hailey came for a visit this week. Belinda came by on her way home from work while Hailey and Watson were here. He (Watson) is really crazy over Belinda. We just had a real good visit.
Sharon called. She will be here the 20th. She is my sister, Laverne’s child, with her mother and daddy gone and is an only child. She comes here every Christmas. We enjoy her!
Lou McQuary’s Sunday School Class and Robert Childers Class went together and had a Christmas party Friday night, December 4th, at the McQuary’s house. Lou had her house decorated for Christmas and all of it was beautiful, especially her tree! She had three tables set up in the living room/dining room area and they all had matching red plaid tablecloths. Such a good touch!
The classes had the meal catered from West Side BBQ and spouses were invited too. The meal was very good. Some of the desserts were brought by the ladies.
After the meal Lou read a very appropriate short story while Diane Downs held up another book so we could see the pictures as Lou read. It was very good. Everyone really had a good time. Larry was nice to hold the carport open for us to park so I wouldn’t have so far to go in the walker. We actually rode with Shirley and James Shirley. They picked up Ray Shirley and us. Larry was trying to minimize the number of cars because parking spaces were few and his yard was wet. There were around 50 people there and all had a good time.
I went to Tupelo Thursday for a foot check-up and got a good report but Malcolm didn’t do so good with his appointment with the eye doctor Thursday. The hole in his eye was no better. She gave him some vitamins and told him to eat green vegetables.
Twanda Black came by for a visit last Friday. We enjoyed her even if she didn’t stay long.
Valerie and Mike Carter’s house in New Albany is just beautiful, the yard, the house, the furnishings, everything!! They had OPEN HOUSE Saturday. Malcolm and I went. There was a good crowd there. Delicious refreshments were served.
Our Sunday School Classroom was full Sunday morning. Sybil was back and everyone was glad. She brought a good lesson.
Brother Louis had a good sermon Sunday morning. If you knew you were a Christian, it made you fell better. Holy Spirit is a comforter and will abide with us forever. He based his sermon on I Corinthians 3: 16-17 and 6:19-20, John 14: 16-23, Ephesians 4:30 and I Thessalonians 1:15.
The holiday meal at Macedonia Baptist Church Sunday night was very successful! Angela Churchill gave a talk and asked the blessing. Then the good crowd dug in on the good food which was plentiful.
