The archaeology of Hernando De Soto will be the topic of a Museum Moments program at the Union County Heritage Museum on Thursday, Oct. 22 at noon.
Brian Hicks, archaeologist and director of the DeSoto County Museum, will talk about the Spanish explorer’s life and death in the New World as well as update listeners on the First Contact Trail relating to DeSoto’s trek through North Mississippi.
The event is free and a light lunch will be served at 11:30, courtesy of the New Century Club of New Albany.
