The New Albany Police Department has recently made several felony drug arrests.
Britteny Spencer, of Hickory Flat, was arrested Sept. 20 and charged with possession of ecstasy, according to the New Albany Police Department.
Spencer, 30, was also charged with possession of a firearm by felon, police said.
Ebony Carr, 23, of New Albany was arrested Sept. 19 by the New Albany Police Department and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Carr allegedly had about 54 grams of marijuana, police said.
Robert Nabors, 35, of Ripley was arrested by New Albany Police on Sept. 19 and charged with possession of marijuana wax and possession of ecstasy, both felonies, police said.
Audie Keene, 64, was also arrested by the New Albany Police Department on Sept. 18 and charged with possession of meth, police said.
A New Albany man has been charged with automobile burglary, police said.
The suspect, Scott Ensey, 49, allegedly went through a vehicle and took the owner’s EBT card, police said.
The incident occurred on Sept. 22 at 501 Oxford Road, Apartment 4.
The homeowner reported that someone was possibly breaking into the vehicle. Police arrived and identified the suspect as Ensey.
“He was there at the vehicle when officers arrived,” said New Albany Police Investigator Jeff Chism.
Ensey was transported to the Union County Jail.
In addition, the Union County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Memphis men Sept. 23 on drug charges after a traffic stop on State Highway 15 South in New Albany, Sheriff Jimmy Edwards said.
Taylon Swan, 48, and John Whalen, 54, were each charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of methamphetamine. Their bonds were set at $40,000 each.
Three people were arrested Saturday, Sept. 26, in the Pumpkin Center community on County Road 75 and charged with possession of meth, said Edwards.
Deputies received a call of a possible overdose and arrived on scene. A search warrant was obtained for the residence, and meth was found inside the home, the sheriff said.
Arrested were: John Leach, 31, of Olive Branch; Kaci Lerue, 28, New Albany; and Justin Lerue, 30, New Albany.
In another case, Michael Chaudoin, 26, of New Albany, was pulled over Friday, Sept. 25, on Bratton Road, and charged with DUI first-refusal, careless driving, no insurance and possession of meth, Edwards said.
James Dykes, 36, of Guntown, was pulled over in the Alpine community Sunday night, Sept. 27, and charged with driving while license suspended, no insurance, possession of paraphernalia and possession of meth, Edwards said.
And Joshua Crum, 34, of Myrtle, was arrested Sept. 24, was charged with felony child endangerment after a child tested positive for marijuana, Edwards said.
Cluster Yancy, 52, of New Albany, was arrested Friday, Sept. 25, by New Albany Police and charged with possession of firearm by felon.
Preston Bell, 26, of Ecru, was arrested Monday, Sept. 28, by New Albany Police and charged with possession of firearm by felon.
