The New Albany Main Street Association held a ribbon-cutting for the Weeden Eye Clinic Aug. 21.
The clinic is owned by optometrist Dr. Michael Weeden, who has his roots in Union County as the son of Dr. Carl Weeden. His wife, June, is a certified Para-Optometric Technician and serves as office manager.
Dr. Weeded has operated a clinic in Corinth for the past nearly 30 years.
Services at the New Albany clinic include treatment relating to diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma and other conditions for patients ranging from infants to elders. Dr. Weeden specifically concentrates on wellness screening for children before they enter school. The clinic also provides eyewear, contact lenses and other needs, but accepts most insurance even if it requires a specific network provider.
His clinic is the first in the state to use the Optomap retinal image technology.
The clinic is at 717 Coulter Drive and office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are accepted but appointments are recommended for faster service. For information call 662-539-7801.
