Ingomar's Gara Beth Self has enjoyed a lot of firsts during her athletic and educational process and Wednesday she made another first as she became the first basketball signee for incoming ICC Women's Basketball Coach Robin Porter.

Ingomar's Kelon Hall was named Player of the Year in Division 1-2A boys and Coach Jonathan Ashley was recognized as Coach of the Year for 2018-19.

Gara Beth Self of Ingomar was named Girls Division 1-2A Player of the Year and Ingomar Girls Coach Trent Adair was named Coach of the Year for the division.

Union County Softball coaches named the All Tournament Team following Friday and Saturday's tournament at Myrtle. There were 12 players recognized and one honorary recognition of an injured player.

The Union County Softball Tournament was held on Friday, March 22 and Saturday March 23 at Myrtle. All five county teams participated in the tournament that featured 10 games. East Union won the championship for the sixth consecutive year as they defeated Myrtle 2-1 in the championship game.

MYRTLE - The Union County Fastpitch title came down to the final inning as East Union scored two runs in their final at-bat and then kept Myrtle from repeating their come-from-behind magic in the bottom half of the inning to win their sixth consecutive title by a 2-1 final.

The New Albany Gazette Union County Track Relays was held on Tuesday March 19 at New Albany High School. Athletes from New Albany, Myrtle, East Union and Ingomar participated in the track and field events with Myrtle winning the girls title and New Albany taking the boys top honors.

INGOMAR - Ingomar opened their 2A playoff experience for 2019 with a sweep of Bruce on Tuesday night as the girls won 79-25 and the boys took the nightcap with a 93-56 verdict.

Annie Orman soared in the scoring category for West Union during the second half of their contest against Ashland in the 2-1A division tournament semi-finals as the Lady Eagles won a close one 61-60. Orman hit for 28 of the 39 second-half points that West Union scored.
