A reward fund created to find the killer of slain Shannon Police Chief Bobby Spencer has topped $10,000.
As of Tuesday, organizers said, the Bobby Spencer Reward Fund has received $10,300 in donations.
Spencer was shot to death Jan. 18 near the door of the Shannon Police Department. Investigators from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Lee County Sheriff's Department are investigating the slaying, but no one has been charged in the case.
The reward, offered in cooperation with the Lee County Sheriff's Department, is separate from a reward offered through Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi.
Donations to the Bobby Spencer Reward Fund can be made at Tupelo and Shannon branches of The Peoples Bank.
Anyone with information about Spencer's shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 840-2073, the special investigative team at 680-6069 or the Lee County Sheriff's Department at 841-9040.
