BOONEVILLE – The Booneville Police Department has arrested two men in connection with a May 9 shooting.
Police responding to the 11:30 p.m. shooting in the Sunflower Housing area found a man with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Investigators determined numerous rounds were fired into the apartment complex from a high powered firearm.
After conducting an investigation, police charged Christopher Carl Christian, 33, of Booneville, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, three counts of shooting into a dwelling house, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Since Christian was already out of jail on felony bond, he was ordered held without bond until his trial.
Police also charged Roman Starks, 29 of Booneville, with hindering prosecution by rendering criminal assistance for aiding Christian in avoiding capture. He is free on a $10,000 bond.
