SALTILLO – By this summer, a warehouse on North Front Avenue in Saltillo should be a destination for kids of all ages.

Scottie and Lindsay Thompson plan to expand their inflatables rental business, North Mississippi Party Rentals, to create a 30,000-square-foot kids’ arcade called House of Bounce. In addition to inflatables, the indoor location will feature a soft play area, an arcade and party rooms. Plans also include laser tag and miniature golf.

“It will be a destination,” said Scottie Thompson. “We see people driving from all around the area to come here like they do to Sky Zone or Incredible Pizza in Memphis. We only have a Chuck E. Cheese’s here and not everyone likes Chuck E. Cheese’s.”

But there is still a lot to be done before the doors are open to the public. The warehouse, located behind the Food Giant in downtown Saltillo, is currently being used to store overflow inventory for a furniture company.

“We are working to get the sprinkler system installed and I will be flying to Phoenix, Arizona, this week to look at the equipment of a family entertainment center,” said Thompson. “We would like to have a grand opening by late July.”

The interior of the building will be redesigned to include larger bathrooms and a kitchen. They plan to have more than the standard arcade fare of pizza, wings and burgers.

“We want to do something different, quirky,” said Thompson, “maybe a grilled Nutella sandwich or even fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. My brother is a chef in Corinth and he has agreed to help us with the menu.”

Even though the business will not be open for months, Thompson said he already has had someone ask about renting the arcade for a company picnic.
