OXFORD – An Alabama man will go to trial next month to face charges he was responsible for a fatal wreck on the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Cedric Coonrod, 24, of Huntsville, Alabama, is charged with a one-count indictment of involuntary manslaughter. The trial is set to begin Nov. 30 at the federal courthouse in Aberdeen. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Sharion Aycock will preside.
On July 3, Coonrod was driving his Chevrolet Tahoe on the Natchez Trace when he crossed the center line and collided head on with a Honda CRV. The driver of the Honda, 62-year-old Steve A. Foster of Braxton, died, and his wife was injured.
The wreck happened near mile post 244.5 in Chickasaw County.
