Tupelo Police make armed robbery arrest


TUPELO – A Tupelo man was arrested and charged with the robbery of an ice cream store Thursday.

Tupelo Police say Frederick Ellis, 35, of Tupelo, walked into the Baskin Robins store on West Main Street and assaulted the employees. He then threatened to harm them with a knife. After retrieving cash from the register, her ran out of the store.

Police captured Ellis a short time later in the area. He was charged with armed robbery and bond has been set at $31,000.
