Felony Arrests

The following people were arrested on felony charges during a 24-hour period ending at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail

- Raymond Edwards, 45, of 3134 Beasley Drive, Tupelo, is charged with the sale of cocaine. Bond has not been set.

- Ronell Seger, 22, of Mantachie, is charged with possession of a controlled substance more than one ounce and possession of precursors. Bond has not been set.

- David Mills, 37, of 1063 Hwy. 363, Mantachie, is charged with possession of precursors and misdemeanor drug offenses. Bond has not been set.

Verona City Jail

- No felonies were reported.

Berryhill - Kacy Lane Berryhill, an 8-pound, 9-ounce girl, was born Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, to Jennifer Burrow Berryhill and her husband, Jack Berryhill, of Nettleton. Grandparents are Frank and Rachel Burrow of Shannon, and Jim and Leslie Berryhill of Olive Branch.

Bolton - Zackary Laine Bolton, a 7-pound, 9-ounce boy, was born Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, to Debbie Conley Bolton and her husband, Tim Bolton, of Plantersville. Grandparents are Glover and Nan Conley, and Endy Conley Paris, all of Tupelo, and Marguerite and Paul Chiassion of Pontotoc.

Bonds - Caroline Maclay Bonds, a 7-pound, 13-ounce girl, was born Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, to Cindy Timbes Bonds and her husband, Bradley Thomas Bonds, of Burnsville. Grandparents are Donnel W. and Carolyn Timbes of Burnsville, and Tommy and Wanda Bonds of Iuka.

Carson - Alex Lamar Carson, a 6-pound, 15-ounce boy, was born Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, to Kimberly Cagle Carson and her husband, Billy L. Carson II, of Saltillo. Grandparents are Gerald and Jennifer Cagle of Kosciusko, and Harold and Patsy Barton and the late Billy L. Carson of Duck Hill.

Casey - Abbey Elizabeth Casey, a 6-pound, 9-ounce girl, was born Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, to Chrystel Casey and her husband, Whitney Casey, of Vardaman. Grandparents are Robert and Pat Melton of Bruce, and Lynn and Virginia Casey of Vardaman.

Chapman - Riley Madison Chapman, a 7-pound, 3-ounce girl, was born Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, to Donna Lathon Chapman and her husband, I.J. Chapman Jr., of Tupelo. Grandparents are I.J. and Ruthie Chapman of Guntown, and Larry and Jeanette Echols of Milwaukee, Wisc.

Earnest - Katelyn Michelle Earnest, a 7-pound, 3-ounce girl, was born Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, to Tina Michelle Kuhn Earnest and her husband, Todd Ryan Earnest, of Saltillo. Grandparents are John and Becky Earnest of Verona, James Kuhn of Tupelo, and Shirley Dickerson of Goodman.

Johnson - Morgan Paige Johnson, a 9-pound, 8-ounce girl, was born Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, to Amy Presley Johnson and her husband, Brian Johnson, of Mantachie. Grandparents are Ike and Vicky Johnson of Mantachie, David and Margie Pennington of Saltillo, Claude Key and Lynda Key of Gulfport, and the late Paul D. Presley of Jackson.

Juckes - McKenzie Paige Juckes, a 6-pound, 3-ounce girl, was born Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, to Leigh Ann Benson Juckes and her husband, Michael Shane Juckes, of Houston. Grandparents are Margaret Wilda Juckes and the late "Bing" Juckes of Trebloc, and Buddy Benson and Sandra Benson of Houston.

Lovvorn - Macaleb Ryan Lovvorn, a 6-pound, 12-ounce boy, was born Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, to Angela Phillips Lovvorn and her husband, Ryan Lovvorn, of Tupelo. Grandparents are Larry and Gloria Phillips of Booneville, and Wayne and Glenda Lovvorn of Houston.

Mauney - Jessi Claire Mauney, an 8-pound, 7-ounce girl, was born Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, to Jenni Warrington Mauney and her husband, Jerry Mauney, of Booneville. Grandparents are Emmitt and Sue Mauney of Booneville, Joe Warrington of Cotton Plant, and Mary Dalrymple of Phoenix, Ariz.

McAuley - Alicia Caroline McAuley, a 7-pound, 11-ounce girl, was born Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, to Dawn Scroggins McAuley and her husband, Malcolm Deaton McAuley III, of Pontotoc. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roland Scroggins of Brandon, and Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm D. McAuley of Tupelo.

McVay - Bailey Jackson McVay, a 7-pound, 12-ounce boy, was born Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, to April McKnight McVay and her husband, Ted McVay, of Houlka. Grandparents are William Boyd and Billie McKnight of Pontotoc, and Jimmy and Jane McVay of Houlka.

Montgomery - James Elliott "Eli" Montgomery, an 8-pound, 11-ounce boy, was born Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, to Jana Scott Montgomery and her husband, Mitch Montgomery, of Pontotoc. Grandparents are James and Janice Scott of Tupelo, and Buddy and Betty Montgomery of Pontotoc.

Murff - Rivers Connell Murff, a 7-pound, 12-ounce boy, was born Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, to Mandy Green Murff and her husband, Jim Murff, of Tupelo. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Green of Saltillo, and Florence Murff and the late Jim Murff of Tupelo.

Military

GARDNER: Army National Guard Pfc. Jonathan G. Gardner has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Karen S. Carpenter, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Gardner, all of Oxford.

HANNA: Army National Guard Pvt. Billy R. Hanna has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of William E. Hanna of Shannon.

LARRY: Army Sgt. 1st Class Willie F. Larry Jr. has arrived for duty at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Oklahoma City, Okla. He is the son of Willie F. and Genevia G. Larry of Okolona, and a 1979 graduate of Okolona High School.

POLLETT: Army Pvt. Donald W. Pollett Jr. has graduated from the light-wheel vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Nona C. and Don Pollett Sr. of Blue Springs, and a 1998 graduate of the Mississippi School for Math and Science in Columbus.
