HED: Volunteers sought for Sjogren's syndrome study
JACKSON - The University Medical Center is seeking volunteers to assist in a drug study for sufferers of Sjogren's syndrome, a condition that causes dry mouth and dry eyes.
Volunteers between the ages of 18 and 70 who have been diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome and who do not plan any dental treatment for four months are needed for the study.
Participants will be given a new drug, at no cost, that could provide relief from the syndrome. The study is being conducted by Dr. Charles Streckfus, associate director of diagnostic sciences, under the supervision of the National Institutes of Health.
