**Election results**

A new face will be seen on the Itawamba County School Board following last Tuesday’s election. Harold Martin will replace Bobby Irvin in the District 3 position. Martin received 594 votes; Irvin, 440; and Emily Smith Collins, 112 votes.

Incumbent Clara Brown retained her seat on the board as the District 4 representative. Brown garnered 662 votes against opponent Kevin Nolan’s 428 votes.

In other contested races, voting was as follows:

U.S. Senator - Trent Lott, 3,265; Erik Fleming, 1,217; Harold Taylor, 73

U.S. Representative - Roger Wicker, 3,234; James Hurt, 1,285

Chancery Court District 1, Place 1 - Phil Hinton, 1,022; John Hatcher, 1,001; W.L. Griffin, 845; Laura McElroy, 778; William Smith, 397; Nicholas Phillips, 255

Circuit Court District 1, Place 1 - John R. White, 1,948; Jim Pounds, 1,297; Danny Lowrey, 1,110

Run-offs will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21, with the same poll workers as Nov. 7 election.

**Fulton plans parade**

The Fulton Christmas parade will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, beginning at 6 p.m. Anyone wishing to participate should contact the Fulton City Hall by Nov. 17.

**Thanksgiving dinner**

The annual Thanksgiving dinner for those in need is coming up. Anyone wishing to enjoy a plate on Thanksgiving Day, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Rick’s BBQ in Fulton, should contact the Salvation Army at 862-7249, Rick’s BBQ at 862-4578, or World Famous Pie-Zons at 862-4000.
