JACKSON - Six area law enforcement officers have graduated from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy.

The local officers were among the 63 graduating from the 10-week basic law enforcement training course on Sept. 12.

Municipal, county and state law enforcement officers are required by state law to complete the training course within a year of being hired.

Local graduates were: Holly Springs Police Officer Grover C. Carroll Jr. of Oxford, Union County Sheriff's Deputy Chad K. Glasson of New Albany, West Point Police Officer Richard H. Hollingsworth of West Point, Booneville Police Officer Degratious E. Jenkins of Booneville, Alcorn County Sheriff's Deputy Charles K. Mullins of Corinth and Mississippi Department of Corrections Officer Marlow Stewart of Oxford.
