NOTE: This project has been postponed from its original date and will likely be rescheduled for sometime next week, according to a city of Tupelo spokesperson.
The project to implement a bike lane in Tupelo's Joyner neighborhood is already underway.
Crews from Riverside will paint the striping for the new bike lane on Joyner Avenue. City officials ask that no cars be parked on the street side from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of work.
Earlier this month Kimes and Stone Construction, sealed and treated three streets in the neighborhood. The striping being painted on Joyner Avenue, one of those streets, represents the next step in an important addition to one of Tupelo's progressive neighborhoods. One that could lead to more for other areas of the city.
