Lee County sets spring fair March 29-April 7
Lee County supervisors Monday approved a contract with W.G. Wade Shows Inc. of Michigan to conduct a 10-day spring fair March 29-April 7 at the county's Agri-Center grounds.
Wade Shows also handled the rides, games and many concessions at the first two annual Northeast Mississippi Fair & Livestock Expositions at the Agri-Center in late summer.
Under the terms of the spring fair contract, Wade will provide at least 25 rides and 30 games and concessions. The county will receive 25 percent of gross ride revenues, $5,000 for concession rights, $2,000 to aid advertising and various other fees from Wade.
The local government will also get all revenues from gate admissions and parking. Officials said they won't know if the spring fair will become an annual event until public response is measured this year.
