MAN WHO MADE 911 CALL CHARGED IN MURDER

VARDAMAN - A 911 call early Saturday morning led police to arrest the caller in connection with the murder he reported.

Donald Hill, 30, Vardaman, called 911 at 12:22 a.m. from the parking lot of Mounce Grocery store in Vardaman and reported the murder of his aunt, 72-year-old Mary Lee Conner.

A sheriff's deputy picked Conner up in the parking lot and took him to Conner's home where she was found dead with multiple stab wounds.

After advising him of his rights and questioning him, Hill was arrested and charged with the murder.

Sheriff Billy Gore said the furniture in the home was in place, so it appears there was no struggle between Conner and whoever murdered her. He added that the sheriff's office has not established a motive although he suspects robbery may have been involved.
