TUPELO – According to the Mississippi Department of Education, approximately a third of school districts in the state contacted the department Friday to report testing delays in English language arts and/or mathematics.
The department has been in contact with Questar Assessment to figure out why the slowdown occurred across the state on Friday.
"The MDE has been in contact with the testing vendor, Questar Assessment, which had issues around its hosting environment today that delayed the speed of testing for some districts," the department said in a press release sent Friday. "The MDE is awaiting a complete analysis from Questar with the actual number of districts and students affected by this issue and steps the company has taken to prevent any future disruption."
English/ language arts and mathematics testing was 84% complete as of Thursday.
The state department said in the statement it is providing guidance to districts and will provide the necessary time for all students to complete testing.
