ONE CHARGED IN POSSIBLE BEATING DEATH
KOSSUTH - A Kossuth man died early Monday, apparently as the result of a severe beating.
Forrest W. Brawner, 47, Route 5, Box 136 A1, Corinth, died at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after being transferred from Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, said Alcorn County Sheriff Jimmy Taylor. Brawner was found lying across the street from his home when deputies responded at 8 p.m. Sunday to a report of a fight.
Danny J. Feazell, 37, of Corinth has been charged with murder in connection with Brawner's death, Taylor said. No bond had been set.
Taylor said authorities believe the fight was a domestic dispute; Brawner had married Feazell's ex-wife.
The sheriff's department is awaiting autopsy results to confirm Brawner died as a result of injuries sustained in a fight, Taylor said.
Feazell, who was originally charged Sunday night with aggravated assault, was just released from Parchman penitentiary, where he had served three years for aggravated assault in connection with a Corinth shooting, Taylor said.
