Races were decided in the two of the three contested school board seats after 33 percent of the county’s 17,289 voters turned out to cast their ballots on the new touch-style voting machines. A total of 5,726 votes were counted all across Pontotoc yesterday.

The school board district three race was still a squeaker race at the end of the night with Cathy McCoy receiving 312 votes to incumbent Ann Carter’s 311 votes. There were 29 affidavit ballots to be counted.

However, in the other two races inclumbents Allen Roye and Randy Tutor ousted their opponents. Roye topped Tabby Crew
