William Montgomery, 22, of Shannon, was booked into the Lee County Jail on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is accused of laying in wait and shooting into a car at the car wash beside the Buzy-Bee on Highway 145 around 9:30 p.m. May 7.
Danny Gilbert, 27, of Shannon, was shot once in the face with a rifle and remains in the North Mississippi Medical Center in critical condition.
“He was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Shannon Police Chief Desiree Kershner.
