WEST POINT — West Point is home to antique shops, the Howlin' Wolf Blues Museum and the Waverly Plantation Mansion, and local officials want to make more motorists aware of those attractions.
The Commercial Dispatch reports West Point Clay County Growth Alliance is in the middle of several projects designed to beautify downtown and draw passers-by into the city.
A new, 7 1/2-foot-high sign will welcome people to the city off Highway 45.
Martha Allen of the alliance says the sign is under construction. New signs also are planned at the intersection to direct people to attractions like The Ritz, The Civic and City Hall, among other locations. Allen says the city has a lot to show off.
