CORINTH – Helen Jeanette McClellan Wooten Still, 66, was born on December 5, 1952 to the late Iola McClellan Patterson and the late Tommy Lee Bynun. She departed her earthly life on October 30, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Tracy Wooten and Scotty Wooten of Corinth, MS; daughter, Lola (Lewis) Wooten of Corinth, MS; daughter/niece, Frazella of Ripley, MS; sisters: Emma McClellan of Bolivar, TN, Nancy (James) Morrow of Hickory Valley, TN and Gail Patterson of New Castle, TN; brothers, Dannie McClellan of Byhalia, MS and Dennis (Gwendolyn) Patterson of Madison, AL; grandchildren: Phenisha Wooten, Daisha Wooten, Tre’Vyon Colburn, Macreo Williams, Zhario Williams, TrayShawn Wooten and Gavin Wooten; four great-grand children; and special friends, Frankie J. Hayes and Patsy McGee.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 from 1:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Foster and Son Funeral Home in Ripley, MS, with the family present from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm. NEW ALBANY – Nettie H. Dunn, 93, was born September 1, 1926 to the late C.H. Weatherall and Ossie Lee Foster in New Albany, Mississippi. She departed her earthly life on October 23, 2019 at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany, MS.

She leaves to cherish her memories: nieces; Nettie Grace (John) Laster; Denise (Earl) Logan of Tacoma, Washington; nephew; Dennis (Delores) Barry of Bellevue, Washington; special cousins; Lester (Elaine) Bails; of Aurora, Illinois, Barbara (Cornelius) Campbell of New Albany, MS; god daughter; Mary Joyce Johnson and god son; C.W. Donny Richard Johnson

UNION/MONROE COUNTIES – Donny Richard Johnson, 68, resident of the Itawamba and Monroe County area, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following an extended illness.

Private family services are planned. Arrangements will be provided by New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care.

Mr. Johnson was born November 23, 1950 in Itawamba County, the son of the late Burlen Richard and Minnie Langley Johnson. He received his education in the Itawamba County Public School System and was employed as a long distance truck operator until his retirement for health reasons.

A Christian, Mr. Johnson proudly served his country is the Unites States Army during the Vietnam War period. He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. Watching westerns on television was a favorite pasttime.

Survivors include his children, Angelina Fretwell (Kenneth) and Pamela Neal (Jimmy), both of Aberdeen and Samuel Johnson of Amory, two brothers, Danny Johnson of Fulton and Tony Johnson of Tremont, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

AMORY – Mark Anthony Pack Wilson, 52, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019, at NMMC in Tupelo. Services will be on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2 pm at Rose of Sharon COGIC. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Belle Memorial Funeral Chapel-Amory.

Ivie Sue Thompson

MANTACHIE – Ivie Sue Thompson, 89, of Mantachie, Mississippi, died on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at her home. She was a loving mother, wife, and friend to all who knew her. She lived her life believing that one day she would see her heavenly Father. She married the love of her life, Dewey Thompson, on April 19, 1947, and they served Christ together for 72 years. She was employed by Kruger Metal Company for many years. She was loved by all that met her. Through the years, she enjoyed attending church, singing in the church choir, traveling with her family on vacation, and being with friends and family. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed.

Sue was born October 5, 1930, in the Shiloh community to Ira and Mertie Franks. She was the last of twelve children.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 9, at the Shiloh United Methodist Church with Bro. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include three sons, David (Diane), Ralph (Gwyn), and Anthony (Renea) Thompson; eight grandchildren, Bryan Thompson (Cindy), Sheba Winter (Dewayne), Tracy Thompson (Deana), Antony Eugene Thompson (Kaylee), Coley Thompson (Jenny), Casey Thompson, Noel Cameron (Jacob), and Allison Braden (Rob); 17 great-grands and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving, devoted husband of 72 years, Dewey Thompson; her parents, Ira and Mertie Franks; 10 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Thompson, Tracy Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Dewayne Winter, Coley Thompson, Matt Thompson, and Jerry Thompson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at Shiloh United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Unity Hospice Team and caregiver Shone Pitts and to all that has supported their family during their journey.

Joseph Dzikielewski

NETTLETON – Mr. Joseph F. Dzikielewski 77, passed away Thursday November 7,2019 at the NMMC-Tupelo. He was born October 13, 1942 in Lorain County Ohio to parents Joseph A. Dzikielewski and Sophie (Olewinski) Dzikielewski. He served in the United States Navy. He received his doctoral degree at the University of Alabama with a degree in Health and Physical Education and Recreation. He was a Full Professor of Heatlh and Physical Education at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, TN. He was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Amory, MS.

Services will be Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Amory, MS. Father Tim Murphy will be officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Wanda Guyton Dzikielewski of Nettleton; one sister Joyce Barczyk (John) of Lakeville, MI; two nephews, Matthew Barczyk, Houston, TX; Johnathan Barczyk, Maine; 2 nieces, Kristen Duca, Manhattan, NY; Dr. Amanda Barczyk, Austin,TX; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Guyton, Nettleton; one brother-in-law, Billy Guyton, Nettleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Amory. Donald “Gene” Franklin

TUPELO – Donald “Gene” Franklin, 88, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1931 in Russell County, Virginia to Alexander Sheridan and Isabel Beatrice Counts Franklin. At the age of 17, he enlisted with the United States Army and served in Italy where he met his wife, Luciana G. Tinolli. They were married on October 31, 1951 and two years later relocated to Tennessee and then to West Virginia in 1966 with Senco Products. In 1986, he and his family moved from West Virginia to Tupelo where he retired from Franklin Collection Service in 1998 after a 12 year career. After his retirement, he enjoyed helping at the Tupelo Buffalo Park and mowing his yard. Gene was a member of the Lions Club and his morning coffee group, the Wrinkle Butt Club. He was a member of Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church (Connect Church).

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Luciana Franklin of Tupelo; son, Dan Franklin and his wife, Sheila of Tupelo; two daughters, Renee Fields and her husband, Rick of Tupelo and Tammy Weeks and her husband, Rich of Port St. John, Florida; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Dawn Knotts and her husband, Joe of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Travis Franklin of Saltlick, West Virginia, Stephanie Fair and her husband, Brad of Saltillo, Jessica Franklin of Tupelo, Danelle Chambers and her husband, Casey of Nettleton, Whitney Franklin of Verona and Jenna Franklin of Belden; two step-granddaughters, Lori Ward and Whitney Ward both of Tupelo; sixteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Hazel Phelps of Chesapeake, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Franklin and Isabel Beatrice Francisco; daughter, Dorothy Jane Patton; and two granddaughters, Alicia Britt Patton and Kimberly “Sunshine” Franklin.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Saturday, November 9, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Services with Military Honors will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Rich Weeks, Rick Fields, Brad Fair, Jim Bush, Jimmy Jackson, and Ted Roach.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Wrinkle Butt Club of West Main Hardees, members of the Lions Club and his special friend, Bill Yarbrough.
