NEW ALBANY – Mary Yvonne Graham Brooks, 82, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany. She was born July 16, 1936 in Prentiss County to Jessie Sylvester Graham and Alma Lou White Graham. She was a homemaker and a member of Locust Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Locust Hill Baptist Church with Bro. David Ross officiating. Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Taylor (David) and Peggy Hitt (Johnny); two sons, Jerry Brooks (Jane) and Randy Brooks; a sister, Coy Gaines; a brother, Troy Graham (Sue); seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Havis Brooks; and a sister, Patsy Moody.
Pallbearers will be Alan Hitt, Joey Hitt, Steve Brooks, Matt Brooks, Ethan Brooks and Jeremy McMillen.

OKOLONA – Elder William Douglas Spratt, 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Gilmore Memorial in Amory.
Elder Spratt was born to his late parents, Jessie R. Spratt and Irene Spearman on Jan. 5, 1938 in Chickasaw Co. He was an Elder at Johnson Chapel Holiness Church. He was the president of HYPBC and has received numerous safety awards while employed with Jesco.
Elder William Douglas Spratt was survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Jean Buchanan Spratt of Okolona. Five daughters; Mashell Swindall, Tonnie Jeffries (DeMarcus) of Tupelo, Sandy Spratt of Tupelo, Liturica Spratt of Waterloo, Iowa, and Toronto Williams of Tupelo. Four sons; Darrell Spratt (Misty) of Baldwyn, James Spratt of Okolona, Bobby Ray Spratt of Louisianna, and Hal Spratt of Tampa, Fla. Three sisters; Gracie Henley of West Point, Annie Ephrim of Aberdeen, and Mary Spratt of Aberdeen. Two brothers; Douglas Spratt of Aberdeen and Robert Earl Spratt of Knoxville, TN. There were also twenty five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be Sat., June 15, 2019 from 12- 1 p. m., one hour before the service. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Outreach Ministries with Bro. Willie Davis officiating. The burial will follow at the Buchanan Family Cemetery.

BLUE SPRINGS – Virgil Victor Herring, 91, died Friday, June 14, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County. He was born June 30, 1927, in Union County to Troy and Mary Dunlap Herring. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. He graduated from New Harmony High School and served in the U. S. Army. He was a retired farmer and construction worker. He helped start the Liberty Schoolhouse restoration and was very active in continuing the Liberty Schoolhouse legacy.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Center Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Lee Graham officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by 1 daughter: Jolene Tutor of Blue Springs; 1 son: Keith Herring (Lois) of Blue Springs; 7 grandchildren: DeAnna Booth, Steve Tutor, Rony Herring, Jon Herring, Jill Herring, James Pannell, and Josh Pannell; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years: Julia Frances Lessell Herring; 1 daughter: Inita Pannell; and 2 brothers: Damon Herring and Edward Herring.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Robert Booth. Honorary pallbearers will be Liberty Schoolhouse members.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Center Hill Baptist Church.

BALDWYN – Archie Hall, 84, passed away on June 14, 2019 at the North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville. He was a construction worker and heavy equipment operator. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and going to auctions. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Baldwyn.
Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Casteel officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
He is survived by sons, Frank Hall (Katie) of Baldwyn and Fred Hall (Tresa) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Cory Hall, Casy Hall, Dalton Hall (Alex), Dillon Hall, Gabe Hall, Gabbie Hall and Austin Garrett; brother, Donald Hall of AL; sister, Polly Newby of Blackland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Williams Hall; brother-in-law, Kenneth Newby.
His grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.
